With data transfer rates of up to 6Gbps per port, the MegaRAID SAS 9260-16i brings users features and improved performance, while continuing to support all the features of the previous 3Gbps SATA+SAS generation. 6Gbps SAS is designed for backward compatibility with 3Gbps SAS as well as with 6Gbps and 3Gbps SATA hard drives. Regardless of the drive speed, 6Gbps MegaRAID controllers are designed to deliver significant performance improvements in both read and write applications as compared to their 3Gbps predecessors.
